Every spring, I eagerly anticipate the delicate white lilies blooming, blanketing the backyard slopes. However, they never seem to be in a hurry. First, their glossy leaves unfurl, resembling a family arriving from a long, cold winter and settling into their springtime haven. Then, after about a week, the tiny buds begin to open, like brides gently smiling and dancing in the soft, warm spring breeze.
